FAQ

What is psychosexual therapy?
Psychosexual therapy is talking therapy. I follow an integrative approach allowing an holistic perspective and tailored treatments for each case. At times, I might suggest resources, assignments to support your process. Please, note: there is no physical contact or medical examinations during the sessions. I might invite you to see your GP or another medical specialist to have further investigations in order to exclude or take in consideration any underlying medical issues.
-
Do you offer an introductory call?
Yes, once you made contact we will arrange a suitable time for a 15 mins call. You will have the opportunity to share what brings you to therapy and your hopes, and to ask any questions regarding the process and my experience. Please, read the Privacy Policy which covers the confidentiality of our conversation.
-
What happens at my first appointment?
After the introductory call, we will arrange a suitable time for a first consultation. The first consultation lasts 50 minutes as for regular sessions. This will outline the structure of therapy and part of the assessment which is an in depth conversation about the reasons for therapy and provides me with a deeper understanding of the difficulties you are encountering. This will give us an opportunity to evaluate the most appropriate psychosexual and relationship therapy for you.
-
Are the appointments confidential?
Yes. However, there are some limitations to this, which are outlined in my Privacy Policy and which will be discussed at our first appointment.
-
Does my partner have to attend?
No, I work with individuals for both psychosexual and relationship issues. However, if you are in a relationship, it might be beneficial to invite your partner to attend. Appropriateness will be discussed with you at the assessment.
-
Do you work with LGTBQIA+ clients or clients with diverse relationships?
Yes and yes. My practice celebrates diversity, promotes inclusivity and affirmation. I work with adults that experience sexual and/or relationship issues regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, sexual practices and that live in diverse relationships.
-
Are children allowed during our sessions?
No, I work with adults only. The material discussed during the sessions might not suitable for an under-age audience. Additionally, it is important that you feel free to share in a time dedicated only to you.
-
What if I need to cancel/reschedule an appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you can email me and we can re-arrange subject availability. However, I have a 48 hours’ notice. This means if you cancel within the 48 hours prior your appointment time you will be charged the full fee.
